Album Notes

My name is Steve Jansen. Welcome to my second CD. If you are new to my music and would like to check out my first CD, go to the inside back panel (behind the CD) for more information.

I have been a member of Songwriters of Wisconsin International (SOWI) since 1998, and this year was another successful one for me in their annual writing contest. I’m very proud to say that the title track; “Fifty Ain’t What It’s Cracked Up To Be”, won first place in the “novelty” category, and second place in the “modern country” category, while another track, “Fool’s Gold”, won third place in the “novelty” category, and fourth place in the “open” category. As was the case with my debut CD, this album would not have been possible without the help of some very talented people. I want to thank Phil Coley for his great vocals, guitar playing and recording skills; Jane Baxter for her beautiful voice, and my part-time co-writer, full-time friend, and fellow lifetime lunatic, John Paynter for all his help in physically creating this album. I couldn’t have done this without you.
