Album Notes

The Stevensons are like one of those insects that only hatches every thirty years or or something. Or like a bunch of comets that happen to blaze across each others' paths in deep space and explode into a exhilarating, ephemeral shower of sparks. Or like one of those crazy elements with too many electrons and an unstable nucleus that's just too volatile to hold together.

Indeed, "Are You Interested?" may be the only record they ever make. It got started when songwriter Mark McAdam got sick of playing acoustic guitar. A loud, messy side-project was the only cure. So he started asking all his friends if they wanted to make up a new rock band, one where enthusiasm and camaraderie trumped musicianship. And here, much, much, much later, is the result. It's also exhilarating, but the record at least should be around for awhile.

The Stevensons are currently scattered all over the globe.
