A decade in the making, on this album these veterans of the 90s Midwest dusty-pub scene have resumed course. Combining alt-country quirkiness with a mainstream flair for wit and raucous fun, it's a joy to have them back and up to their old tricks.

Combining pub rock with some well-placed country twang, this Indiana band is clearly influenced by the Rolling Stones, but only so much. And it's a good thing, because though a Stones-y sound ain't a bad place to start, it's where these guys take it that makes this record so damn fun to listen to. A loose feel runs through the course of these 12 songs, and it extends to both the grooves and the lyrics. But don't mistake "loose" for lazy: these chaps can churn out infectious progressions with the greatest of ease, but there's an underlying attention to detail that really makes the songs stick with you. The lyrics certainly help. They're not afraid to get a bit goofy with the words, and songs like "Iron Sheik" and "Mick Jagger's Bastard" end up incorporating just the right amount of quirk. Couple that with catchy melodies and solid group vocals, and you've got yourself one heckuva rock record.
