Album Notes

Superchimp!
The Shake-you-awake cartoon superhero rock band from the planet POW!!!

Superchimp?? Seriously?? Read on, oh curious one...

Superchimp is energetic and crazy punky progressive power pop-
played by three superheros:
Superchimp: who plays guitar and sings and screams like a... superchimp!.
Captain Ridiculous: who plays bass like no one ever should.
The Unbelievable Man: who hammers the drums into submission with lightning bolts.

The Pop Your Balloon Package includes not only three songs, but a full-length animated video of the title song,
as well as a short short animation starring Clark Chimp, and audio extras, all of which can be accessed by
playing the CD in your computer.
There are also 2 print comics, and a fold-out featuring graphics from the animated video.
The kitchen sink wouldn't fit. We did try.

The Origin Of Superchimp!

Look! Up in the stratosphere! It's a cannonball! It's a UFO! NO! It's Superchimp!!!
Faster than a quip by Groucho Marx, More powerful than Chomsky's arguments, able to leap complicated socio-political, psychological, and philosophical theories in a single punchline!
Bullets, bombs and death rays bounce right off him as he flies through the air, smashing through all obstacles!!
Perhaps his most amazing power is his ability to divine his enemies' true feelings and motivations and show them directly or metaphorically how they are straying from their own inner truth-- or something like that!
But who or what is Superchimp? And how did he get that way?
It all started on the planet POW!! Located in another galaxy somewhere near the center of the universe- where gravity is so strong that time is pulled into an eternal present (where the past is sucked out of existence as soon as it passes, and the future...),
the planet POW! spins around a blue-hot sun, whose light is so intense that nothing untrue can survive its scathing rays.
Quark Tzimian, an astrophysimusicianaut from the planet POW! was in his spaceship researching the effects of two adjacent black holes (uncommon even in that galaxy) on certain wavelengths of sound that are created by certain chord progressions, when he slipped on a banana peel and fell on the accelerator. It propelled his ship beyond the event horizons of the two black holes and he and his ship were torn apart and sucked through the twin black holes.

He woke up on a planet in a galaxy on the other side of the universe, where past and future encroach upon the present.
In a land where truth has no meaning, where the present is measured only in terms of past and future, and vanity, greed and sensation are the sole governing factors of human existence. Los Angeles, in other words.

Suddenly finding himself here, imbued with cosmic powers as a result of the vastly different gravitational and energetic properties of his home galaxy, he decided to take the next logical step: He decided to form a band!!
And of course, have adventures, fight Giant Space Robots, and other supervillains, and regular villains and headaches and injustice, in no particular order.
He took the Exclamation Point, the symbol of Planet POW! as his insignia, and the rest is, well, mostly not made up yet.
Stay tuned!
