Album Notes

On the 10th of December, the day Barack Obama received the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo, Norway, I released the single ”Yes we can” in Norway. The international release will take place on January 20th, the day Barack Obama has been president of the United States of America for one year. The song is inspired by Obama and in particular by his Speech of Race.


Barack Obama has - in saying and in doing - appealed to all of us to contribute as best we can for our common good. The lyrics of “Yes we can” are an abstract of my interpretation of Obama’s message. The release as a whole is my reply to his appeal.




- I distributed a thousand free copies of the single in the streets of Oslo on December 10th.



- I have made an agreement with SOS Children’s Villages to donate to them any profit made on “Yes we can”.



- I want to state an example, showing that we can give without asking anything in return.



- I want to reach out to individuals with the message that we can all make a difference.



The single’s “b-side(s)” contain(s) 5 translations of the Norwegian hit throughout 30 years “I have a dream”, English, Spanish, French, German and Greek, to which the Norwegian copyright holders have generously agreed.



I am asking you who is reading this for the following:

1. Please help me generate as much income for SOS Children's villages as possible; buy this single allthough the price is a little higher than would normally be expected for a single.

2. How do I get a copy of the single to Barack Obama? I think it would make him really happy:) If you know him personally or know you will get the chance to meet him, please purchase a copy and give it to him. Then contact me - I promise you will get a new copy!

3. Follow my example and give without expectation of getting anything in return - it feels better than one might think.
