Album Notes

This album completed Sweet Deliverance’s transition to recording the great original music they are known for today. In fact, this album is their only album where every track is an original composition by the artists themselves.

Right off the bat the title song by Bob Allsup simplifies the gospel message down to a simple “Take His Hand”. This is followed by Kevin Percival’s telling of Philip and the Unich in “Philip’s Song”

Next up you get one of Sweet Deliverance’s most requested songs, “Is it me Lord (Am I the one)”. This heart-felt and moving piece puts a question that all of us have at times and packages in such a memorable way - a way that only Sweet Deliverance can bring you.

Bob comes back to finish out the A-Side (when originally on cassette) with "Read the Writings” and “Don’t Hesitate”.

The second half starts with “Walking the Way” by Kevin. Affectionately known as the “nah-nah” song, this song is also used as the theme song to the syndicated “Key to the Kingdom” television show in the United States (and formerly Canada).

Gary Ferguson follows with this look at the message of the Sermon on the Mount in “The Man on the Mountain”. “Talk to Me” is a NY street-style tune by Bob that really shines. Kevin then finishes out the album with the “Simon’s Lament” and “Hear Our Prayer”

Whether it is your first exposure to Sweet Deliverance, or just your next album, it is sure to be one you will want in your collection.
