while she might be the descendant of the notorious bank-robbing outlaw Jesse James, country singer Tesa James is here to have her own chapter written about her music, that the general public will fall in love with. Born and raised in the state of Louisiana, this happily married woman happens to be one of those rare cases of a great artist who was discovered by accident. Not planning to be a superstar country artist out of the gate, Tesa just happened to be one of those that were caught singing her own tunes and was able to catch the ear of someone very important.
Having much guidance and support from Grammy Award Winning producer music industry Ted Perlman, life for Tesa James been pretty much been smooth sailing. Being involved in an industry that requires hard work, dedication and much support from her family – this new coming country music sensation, unlike many new artists is riding the wave pretty well. Her new single "Beautiful" has generated great feedback, which was created in hopes to make a fellow sibling happy about her love life. "The Assassination of Tesa James" will make a landmark in the country music genre soon as Tesa will steal her shine, the right way. Who is Tesa James: I am from Louisiana; I am a wife and mom that loves my children. I just had an awesome opportunity open up for me and this past year in my life has been crazy. I'm just enjoying my life and it’s all very exciting. It just came to a point where my manager heard my vocals and became real excited. I'm so new to this music stuff, so it’s been a crazy journey, but it's been fun. Growing up, I loved all kinds of music and being down here in New Orleans, you have a lot of musical influences. I love Janis Joplin, The Beatles, and the first concert I ever went to in my life was Garth Brooks. I loved it and I never knew concerts could be that fun… I enjoy people's talent and look to share mine as well.
Balancing Family Life and Music: I have a great family down here and that's how it is down south with the close-knit families. When I go out to Los Angeles to record my music, my kids are like "Go back, Go away." It’s because they’re having so much fun with their cousins and uncles, so it’s been fairly easy so far. My family is very supportive of my career and do everything they can to help, so it’s been a blessing. This industry is really cool and I never dreamed in a million years that I be apart of this, but I'm enjoying all of it.
Tesa James "Beautiful" Single: The song was actually written a couple years ago... Down south, you know people get married young. My younger sister had a bunch of friends that were getting married and she was still single. Just to cheer her up, I told her I'd write her a song for her wedding one day. I sat down at my keyboard one night and it just all came together. It was a song that I just put on the shelf and that's when my manager Julian [Williams] approached me about the music business – and has me in the position I'm in now. “Beautiful” is the first single and we are releasing a video soon. The Formula To Making Music: I like to sit down at the keyboard and get the lyrics down first, then the melody will come and I’ll have a foundation of what it should sound like. My producer Ted Perlman will have his input as well, taking the melody and creating something around it. Ted is such a genius and once he adds his input, the songs turn out great. If I were to drop a major album between now and the next year, I was told it should be titled "Introducing Tesa James." (She has her Limited Edition EP: The Assassination of Tesa James coming soon.)
Why Tesa Deserves a Chance: I love the fact that country music is all about rural life with the lyrics, music – and the whole meaning behind it and the personal experience. For my album, a lot of the music is personal and it hits pretty close to home. I hope people will really like the style of the music. It’s different and it’s a really cool project with a nice little twist to it.
Artist (other than Country) That She’d Like to Work With: Usher would be really cool to work with and I love Justin Timberlake as well. I would like to work so many different artists – too many to chose from. There is a lot of great music out in the world and I'm ready to showcase my talent too. There is a lot of work that goes on in this business, so this life is all new to me. Some people have even said that I’d do good working with Dr Dre, so we'll see.
