Album Notes

The Bluescasters first came together in the summer of 2004, formed by experienced players who had shared musical experiences throughout their pasts in various combinations within other bands. Each musician has a wide range of influences and share a common bond in their love for live performance. From the start, the focus has been on creative song writing featuring real life stories, in-the pocket pulsing rhythms, melodic solos, and vocal harmonies, all loosely wrapped in the blues genre.

After five years of performing together, two studio albums behind them, and having heard repeated requests from their audience, the band felt it was time to put the real deal on record. On June 27, 2009 in an intimate setting and in front of some wild and crazy Michigan pub-crawlers sprinkled with family and friends, The Bluescasters cast away the cold studio environment and poured real emotion and sweat into these 16 original songs. Because each band member has played in multiple combos including rock, blues, jazz, R & B, and even bluegrass bands, the push/pull dynamic resulting from blending their varied backgrounds and individual tastes is what has lead to the sounds you will hear on this disc. With WEMU radio host Michael Jewett and Michigan's own Jesse Sinatra kicking off the evening, Guy Hollerins nightclub explodes into the raw and powerful kind of blues Bluescasters' fans have come to expect. So pour yourself a beverage of choice, put this disc in the stereo, and by all means, crank up the volume a bit...it's time for everyone to find out what The Bluescasters are all about.

Tout est bon

Direct from Detroit, ladies and gentlemen The Bluescasters!!!!!!…… Great live CD!

So many live CDs out there and so often what you hear doesn't do the band justice. This is one that feels like the energy from the stage is all there on the disc and that the band is really connecting with the audience. Some songs move me more than others, but the standard is way up there. There isn't a dull moment. The harmonica and guitar solos on one cut called Wife Next Door are some of the best I've heard. It's Magic Dick and Ron Wood (really) good. This one's worth the money!
