The OPUS returns with the first of three releases in 2010. Having collaborated with an array of music greats such as Slug (Atmosphere), Aesop Rock, MURS, Pigeon John, DJ Krush, and Meat Beat Manifesto, the OPUS drops the spring time digipak CD gem "Praying Mantis - Plus." Widely known as two of the most unique producers, they break new ground by fusing its sonic masterpieces with upcoming neo-soul artist Billie Drakeford, singing a lustrous ballad over the track "In the Oak" accompanied by guitarist John Boda. Chicago natives MC Adad & Lord360 add lyrical contributions on stand out tracks "Street Talk" and "Save Me", while Eliott Lipp plays synth sounds over the atmospheric soundscape "In the Oak - Prophet Mix." Woven together with a mixture of stirring instrumentals, the Praying Mantis CD conveys ingenuity and innovation throughout, while also retaining the originality that listeners have raved about since their first exposure to the production team's intricate style. This intricate style of production has been known to permeate several lines of musical genres.
