Album Notes

Thor Rutgersson is a Swedish Singer/Songwriter (with lyrics in English) who spins great webs of intriguing and complex music around a focused core of carefully crafted lyrics. On his debut CD, producers Johan Nyqvist, Thomas Markebro and Martin Holmström helps Thor create a varied and wide sound that not only strengthens the songs but also keeps the album extremely interesting and different, throughout all the eleven songs. By nature, this is solid Singer/Songwriter-pop with a mellow but thoughtful feel, however Thor and the other producers gently expands on the folk-theme, graciously moving it into venues such as jazz, funk, rock, pop and country. The Experimental touch really brings out the lyrics and gives the whole album a touch of quirkiness.
The lyrics Thor writes are often hauntingly realistic and tells the kind of stories that never makes it into newspapers or such. It is the tale of the little people, the average Joe's. It is songs from the reality of most people. From the reality of Thor himself. Other songs are of a more private nature and in a very honest way Thor lets us come face to face with his inner self and as we're introduced to some of his inner powers as well as demons, the picture that's depicted before us is one of a very real and realistic person. A person most of us could recognize ourselves in. This is music that can appeal to a lot of people because it is about a lot of people and this is music based in the real world. With Thor's music you get a chance to see the world in both tragic and beautiful ways and in the end this album just might help you get through another day. ...I know, but I'm still hoping for a happy ending. Every CD comes with a booklet containing lyrics and track details.
