Trout and Parrot is Alex Stephens and Jillian Secor. Specializing in both original music and classic murder ballads, this up-and-coming duo combines raw energy and beautiful melodies that push folk music to the edge. Coming from very different musical backgrounds, these two artists combine to create a truly original sound. While Jillian was developing her stunning voice by singing hymns as a youngster, Alex was leading an aggressive punk band. It was there he began experimenting with quickly improvised melodies that have evolved to complement Jillian's distinct vocals magnificently. The masterful songwriting exhibited on their first album "Headin' West" is a cause to pay close attention to the duo and place high expectations for their next release.
