The prolific writer strikes again. Unckle Eddie stays predictable in that at least 1 of the selections thrives on his story-telling abilities (She Broke My Plate). But from there, Unckle Eddie veers into writing and producing a few tunes that give the listener "a little bit of pop" - (Hazel Eyes & A Blue Bird) are "appealing themes" that work for all of us... because who hasn't seen a blue bird before or a person with hazel eyes that they didn't remember? But for those of us who are familiar with "classic Unckle Eddie," you're not surprised when you hear the tunes and realize that Unckle Eddie has put a twist on the "blue bird" as he lays out the story that tells how not only the "blue bird" but the robin, the sparrow, etc. are all actually snitching..."a blue bird told me you been foolin' around." Southern Soul gets its chance... (I Can't Walk Away, I've Got to Get There & Hole in the Wall Girl). And the multi-genre culmination is complete with some "happy-occasion-celebration" type songs (Let's Dance & Happy Birthday Baby) that listeners of all ages can enjoy. Happy Birthday Baby will one day take its place with the other traditional "Happy Birthday to You" song and the more contemporary, "Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday" song written by Stevie Wonder. And finally, "The Casino's Calling Me" is one that casino goers (real gamblers or just the casino buffet lovers) can relate to. You'll love this album.
