Album Notes

Nothing new under the sun?
…How about Under the Moon?

“Moonlight”, the debut CD by Under the Moon, is a unique blend of 10 exciting, original Jazz, Blues and Latin tunes. From the Killer Joe groove of “Here in the Moonlight”; the Basia-esque, “Only a Fool”; the Manhattan Transfer-like, “Coolcat”;
to the funky, ‘Guess Wut?’; Under the Moon delivers a swingin’, sophisticated ~ tight but loose ~ New York vibe throughout.

Under the Moon is a jazz piano trio, featuring vocalist Lili Layton ~ augmented by sax and trumpet; with such San Francisco Bay Area musicians as: Jimmy Layton (piano, organ, elec piano), Jay Goetting (bass), Harvey Wainapel (tenor sax), Lincoln Adler (tenor & soprano sax), Erik Jekabson (trumpet, flugelhorn), Chuck MacKinnon (trumpet, flugelhorn), Jeff Leighton (harmonica).
