ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Learn To Like It" is the debut release of Vagrant, the new solo project of veteran Philadelphia-based guitarist, singer, and composer John Glaubitz. Having played with so many bands and in so many different styles over the years, this EP marks John's return to the guitar-driven rock that first inspired him to play music. The songs are thoughtful and introspective, yet at the same time, violent and emotional, as the artist comes to grips with new directions in his life and in his music. All the music on this record was composed, performed, and produced by John himself, and thus it is deeply personal, with a true singularity of vision and focus. It is as close as humanly possible to the direct transmission of thoughts from one mind to another - from the artist’s to yours.

“Simply put, this music is about freedom and the struggle for it. Freedom from the people and forces that vie for control over us, in our personal lives and as a people. Freedom from labels, genres, and stereotypes. Freedom as an individual in a free society. Creative freedom, spiritual freedom, economic freedom. At the heart of this is my belief in the power of the individual and of the human mind. I want to be free to find my own way in the world, and I choose to make my way by creating and sharing music. This music is a product of imagination, logic, and sweat. Therefore, it tends to be urgent and aggressive, yet intricate. It is my declaration to the world that I am free, and that I will not apologize for the things that make me who I am.”

-John Glaubitz
