A collection of Val’s early composition from the 1980s/ 1990s when she worked with various music groups and children’s choirs within the Diocese of Middlesbrough.
This collection of psalms, canticles and sacred songs are presented by music group members of all ages, some of the songs are sung with joyful praise, while others are presented more gently and prayerfully. The collection are all easily learned (song book with melody and guitar chord to accompany ‘We are your people’ is also available) and they are ideal for use in school, with young people or in prayer/parish.
Val Goldsack is a liturgical composer of contemporary psalm settings, canticles, sacred songs, a singer & guitarist and publishes her work with JHN Liturgical Music, producing CD's that focus especially on Morning & Evening Prayer - closely based on The Prayer of the Church. She has recorded a solo CD 'Light Divine' produced by Colin Mawby with Richard Lewis and is published by Kevin Mayhew. Val has worked as a pastoral musician in the Diocese of Middlesbrough since the late 1970's to encourage both young musicians and singers in their parish music groups. She has also assisted with liturgical music for the mass in the central parishes of Middlesbrough Diocese and has served on Bishop's Council for Liturgy for the Diocese of Middlesbrough UK.
