The Velazquez Family Singers, nominated for Children's Project of the Year at the 25th Annual Stellar Awards, has recorded a CD single where net sale proceeds will be contributed to Haitian earthquake relief efforts - with a special emphasize on children. This idea came from The Family's recent trip to the 2010Stellar Awards ceremony in Nashville. Gospel superstar Kirk Franklin made a call for nominees to take part in a his special recording of "Are You Listening - A love Song For Haiti," to help the earthquake victims. After attended the session, the Velazquez children wanted to more.

Once in Jersey City, the kids asked dad (aka Victor) could they made a song for the children of Haiti. Victor contacted producer and 9 Lives Studio owner Nicola Stemmer who immediately jumped on-board and made a calls of his own. Nicola reached out to jazz great Alex Bugnon, who played for music giants like Earth, Wind, And Fire, Patti Austin, James Ingram and Freddy Jackson. Nicola also contacted guitarist Ken Sebesky and percussionist Randy Crafton - both answered the call wihout any hestitation. Next, renown gospel drummer Jeff Davis who played for everyone from Hezekiah Walker to Richard Smallwood joined the project. He then made a call to Michael Jackson producer and brother of songbird Regina Belle, bassist Benard Belle, who came out to help. Finally, gospel organist and horn playing wizards Paul Gordon and Vincent Henry, who is Amy Winehouse's musical direct, added tracks to our 1979 remake of a song that relates to the emergency in Haiti right now, "While We Still Have Time."

And finally some of Jersey City's finest gospel singers lent their talents to the cause. Singing soprano - Alexia Velazquez and mommy Barbara Douglas. On alto - Victoria Velazquez, antie Kanni Douglas-Milton and recording artist Marguerit Holland. and holding down tenor was BeNard Giles and Victor Velazquez. (10 years old Emmanuel Velazquez feel asleep by this point.)
