There are many people who helped make this CD a reality. This project was a dream and a prayer for three years before Commissioner Brian Owens opened the door for conversation about how to accomplish this goal. At a prayer breakfast several years ago after hearing the choir sing, then Commissioner Owens wrote on a napkin, "recording studio - Metro State Prison". I don't know why I am writing this," he said. Perhaps he didn't know, but God and I did. A seed was planted. Time passed. Mr. James E. Donald, our commissioner from 2003-2008, was instrumental in paving the way with his enthusiasm, creativity, and love for gospel music. in August 2008, he gave his blessing and removed the final administrative stumbling blocks. We were on our way. I would like to thank these two men for allowing and encouraging this kind of creativity. This product and this process have been filled with redemption, restoration, and restitution. This choir is a ministry for these women. It is one of the ways they can give back to the community. When they sing, the women generate hope and inspiration in themselves and in those who hear them.

To Emily Saliers of the Indigo Girls - You are such a generous woman with your time, talent, and resources. Thank you for all you have done to bring this CD to life. Singing with you has created a memory for a lifetime for all of us. You are in our hearts forever.
