After a successful run at Eugenios on Division St. in Portland, OR, Alicia Viani and Jeff Cramer decided it was wise to jump in the studio for a quick evening and throw down a few tracks -- it's road music, porch music, bonfire music, wooden music.

The Wanderkind's timeless fire
author: Josh
Have you ever sat beside a perfect fire? The kind that burns low and steady and fills you with a sense of calm. Sitting in the glow of that fire have you ever felt time melt away, to be replaced only by a deep and abiding faith in the natural order of things? I have sat beside such a fire and I have listened to the music of The Wanderkind, and I can tell you, they are one and the same. The Wanderkind, or Jeff and Alicia as they are known to me, make music that transcends time and warms hearts. With sweet harmonies floating over gently picked acoustic guitars, The Wanderkind create a pure blend of American folk that invites you right up close. If there is a rawness to the songs, which were recorded in stunning hi-fi during a single session at Kung Fu Bakery studios in SE Portland, there is also a sense real intimacy. These are songs that have pulled passersby in off the street during late night shows at Eugenios. And whether you know Jeff and Alicia or not, their music says “pull up a chair friend, have a glass of red, everything is going to be just fine.” Do yourself a favor and take them up on their offer. It's one you wouldn't want to miss.
