Remember when punk rock was a little bit dangerous and a whole lot of fun? When style took a backseat to substance and a dizzying lack of restraint was a good thing? Watch It Sparkle brings all that to mind with the release of their self-titled debut EP. This four-song seven-inch is pure DIY punk that sounds like glorious lost music from Akron or Cleveland in 1979 or '80 rather than new music from Seattle in 2009 or 2010. Their sound has that certain something you can't quite put your finger on, but once you let it soak in you can't help but walk away smiling; as if you're in on a big secret before everyone else.
