At the time I wrote this song, I was highly inspired by John Patitucci's masterful album "Heart Of The Bass" and Victor Wooten's famous song "Classical Thump". Coming from a classical piano background myself, some of my favourite composers are Tchaikovsky, Satie and Bartok. These strong influences found an outlet in Classical Sojourn whilst I was experimenting with finger tapping on the bass like how I play a piano.
I named it as such because it was really an exploration for me into the classical realm, a journey into a style of music which I hope to discover more in the future. I wrote the strings and oboe arrangements into the song to give it more depth and character. It is one of my hardest songs to play and also one of my proudest compositions.
