Album Notes

If you like your Rock with big guitars and grooves that make you want to break the speed limit then this release is a must-have for you! With their early 70’s influences and an 80’s approach to songwriting the X-Spurts have crafted a fresh, unpretentious and memorable release on Poptown Records. After all, what could be better than Strangers to Love? Their songs are about people like you and me.

Hard Luck was written for all of the people who find themselves in love with someone who just seems to always be in crisis mode. You know how it is to try and move on from those relationships. You never remember the bad stuff and wind up getting back together only to find after a few weeks that..."she's got a hard luck story."

Everybody Knows You was written about a high school friend who was constantly bending the rules, to put it mildly. Like you don’t know! Every time you talk to her it’s one thing or another and you wondered if she’d ever find some kind of peace. It always felt like she was running wild in search of something. We all know someone like this.

Hang Out A While is the story of a relationship that was bigger than it’s circumstances. It wasn’t about a casual fling or necessarily getting married some day. Two people who loved having each other around despite what one day would send them to other places.

Lady of the Evening: No matter what I say you’re still going to think it’s about a hooker! Ever have multiple encounters with a mysterious stranger? The twist is that all of sudden they’re gone and you never see them again.
