All songs on this album were written and performed by the Yellow Dress: Dan Weiss, Jonathan Kirk Moyer, Mark Roquet, and Jasmine Moser. It was recorded, mixed, and generally made to sound like a real thing by Dave Reep at Third Culture Records in Oakland, CA. Dave also played pedal steel on Oak Tree and Dust and White Ashes. The album art is by Walter Green and we recruited lots of other help from other friends along the way.

The album title comes from the book "Joe Gould's Secret" by Joseph Mitchell. It is a very good book.

I got this album a couple of weeks ago, and it's still in my CD player! The songs on this disc are both humorous and sad, and really catchy. Some standout songs are "Dust and White Ashes", "Throwing Rocks at Your Window", and "Buffalo". Do yourself a favor and get it!

Yay! The Yellow Dress!

I've seen these guys play many events in San Francisco, and I like them a lot. Since you asked, yes I do kind of know one of the guys in the band, which explains this early review on CD Baby, but I actually liked the band way before I kind of knew the guy. I mean, they drew the title of this CD from Joe Mitchell's famous book. That alone ought to tell you something about them. So there.
So with that out of the way, my favorite songs are Dream (#2), which is far and away my favorite, lyrics-wise, and The Hills Have Eyes. But each song is good, and each tells a cute little sad story that's kind of happy, or a happy story that's kind of sad. And what more could you ask for than that? Check it out! I'm already looking forward to the sequel.
