ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Kendall Wilson {born June 16th, 1983}, know simply as Young Platt, formerly Platinum, is a rapper/songwriter. Born and raised in the notorious, gritty, city of Gary Indiana, Platt was introduced to the life of guns and violence at an early age. Instead of turning to the streets for recreation he began crafting rhymes with his best friend/ neighbor Lamont (Pooh-Pooh} Hardin. They came together and formed a group called TressPass which gained a lot of local recognition in the city. The group was short lived after Lamont had got shot and killed at a local gas station in 2000. Furious and angry from the death of his rap partner, Young Platt had made a vow to continue on the dream of being a famous rapper. With a unique lyrical wordplay and a gift to be able to freestyle and come up with raps instantly in his head; he was soon noticed by his older brother {Hazardous Smoke} and {Young Dangerous} who had already formed they own group and record label.,{Caution Klik}. Young Platt had begun entering into freestyle battles all across the region and was remarkably beating every opponent he had ever gone up against. The group Caution Klik had gone on to release 1 album which garnered a big buzz throughout the Midwest region but due to incarceration to several members, music stalled and the group separated. Young Platt then went back to the basics; entering freestyle battles and dominating rappers from city to city. An major opportunity came when Platt entered a freestyle battle hosted and thrown by “Platinum recording artist Young Buck of G-Unit Records” , Platt won that battle which resulted in him getting an all expense paid trip to Las Vegas to network with other artist’s and producers. During his time in Las Vegas, Young Platt met and spent time with multi-platinum producer Swizz Beats who was interested in his flow and told him to create a demo and send it back to him. Back to the basics it was for Platt who went back home with the intentions of recording a music demo to send to major record companies with hopes of landing a recording contract. While recording in a local studio one day Platt was introduced and met multi-platinum producer Moe-Z M.D {Tupac Shakur & John MellenCamp to name a few} Impressed with his witty flow and heartfelt music Moe-Z and Young Platt began working together creating songs . Their first song recorded together with Moe-Z producing the beat and singing the chorus was “On My Block”. The song got a lot of attention real fast locally in Indiana and in California, going on to become the first single on Young Platt’s first mix tape, “Coldest Rapper Alive”. The mixtape went on to sell over 5000 units, now Young Platt is back with his official debut album "Love Pain & Music".. A guaranteed classic...
