It is true that true artistry knows no boundaries nor is it easily defined. From the moment you hear the drums roll and the unique vocals of this motherland wordsmith you can tell ZIMBABWE KID is truly something special. Born and raised in Zimbabwe, and having resided in the Midwest U.S and the dirty south, ZIMBABWE KID's musical influences range far and wide.
"I always had love for traditional Zimbabwean music, rhumba, kwaito, old school r&b, reggae and rap. In short, I started rapping in high school, right around Form 4. I used to recite my favorite rappers' verses and I made my first beat and wrote my first rhymes in college. Ever since then I never stopped because it came naturally to me and it has never felt like work," says ZIMBABWE KID.
For many years , many from Southern Africa have voiced concerns and dissent about the lack of
representation of Southern Africa by its finest artists on a worldwide level. Many have been able to
achieve only regional success in many parts of the world, but that's all about to change as that KID from
ZIMBABWE steps up to the plate. Armed with serious production skills, ZIMBABWE KID captures the unique Southern African flavor without losing his Hip Hop edge. Factor in powerful words and a top notch delivery many have begun to say 'mupfana uyu akapenga' loosely translated to 'that young brother is truly crazy!'.
If ZIMBO NEXUS leaves you feeling like you are in Caribbean, East/ West Coast, Dirty South or back in Africa, just chill, kick back, relax and let that KID take you on a ride. Listen and enjoy the music!

Hey, to anyone who reads this, this album is more than worth the 8.99 for it. I'm from Canada, and it costed me around 12 after taxes and what not, and I'm still stoked. Track 2-10 will keep you wanting more, the "Why I Rap" song is needed, but I tend to not listen to it pumpin down the street. Much love to ZK for making this, been waiting a while for this to come out.
