Zarni "wraps catchy piano melodies and soulful vocals around mature tales of complicated love and fraying relationships. At 20 years old, De Wet captures moments that sometimes elude songwriters twice her age"- Chris Kocher Press and Sun Bulletin

Album Notes

"The ebb and flow of typical love affairs inform most of the album, from the wistfulness of 'Time of My Life' and 'Whatever the Weather' to the suspicion and mistrust of 'Down and Dirty' and 'You Only Wear Me On Your Sleeve.' One particular highlight is 'Spaceman,' a soaring plea for a lover's attention that includes a tasty jam near the finish. The CD's jazzy title song finds strength even amid the lowest point of rejection: 'When I pick myself up / that's when I'll be found / because I'm bigger than this part of me / that falls to the ground' " Chris Kocher Press and Sun Bulletin

I was initially introduced to "Spaceman" through CD Baby's music discovery podcast, so it was a no-brainer to pick-up this catchy tune. I nitpicked through the samples and chose one other track which I like more and more each time I listen to it. The track, "Time of My Life" is a little pop, a little broadway, and a lot of enjoyment. It's strange because the song makes me incredibly happy and incredibly sad when I hear it, as I can vividly imagine the events and the sentiments that are expressed through the lyrics.
