“A sharp-eyed storyteller... She also can flash some sly social satire or a powerful sense of moral indignation, all the while sounding like your good friend” ~ M Berick, No Depression
“I just finished listening to “Losing Faith” and it leveled me - I had to crawl to the computer to let you know how much it moved me,even after only one listen. - I’m hooked.” ~ Eliza Gilkyson
"a singer-songwriter with smarts and a distinct vision who's capable of heartfelt sorrow or off-kilter humor'' ~ Austin Chronicle
Audrey Auld-Mezera hails from Tasmania, Australia. She was raised on Dixieland Jazz and classical violin, and later developed a passion for traditional country music.
With 10+ years of touring and 7 albums in her swag, Audrey has found her own voice as a singer, and as a songwriter. You'll hear her country and folk musical influences, but her lyrics are what sets her apart; she's funny, political, irreverent and heartfelt.
Audrey's show features original songs, both poignant and wry, that will seem familiar by the end of the evening. She delivers acoustic ballads with a soulfulness that transcends any specific genre. Her set is interspersed with hilarious tales told with an Australian tongue-in-cheek.
Audrey was a winner of the Chris Austin Song Contest at MerleFest 2006 in North Carolina and has recorded with or performed live with Buddy Miller, Fred Eaglesmith, Bill Chambers, Nina Gerber, Mary Gauthier, Kieran Kane and Carrie Rodriguez.
Audrey Auld-Mezera is a joy to watch on stage. She loves to perform, and it shows in every song she sings.
“Audrey is the real deal. I call her the Australian songbird. She has that wide-open sound & it’s easy to relate to her music because she sings from the soul.” ~Jimmy La Fave
Other Career highlights:

"Audrey Auld Mezera is a great singer songwriter. She holds a unique place in contemporary Americana/Roots music. She is one of the most honest original artists I know." ~ FRED EAGLESMITH
“The beauty of Audrey's work is that she understands the power of simplicity. Whether it be in a traditional country setting or on the more edgy tracks her voice stays honest and true." ~ KIERAN KANE
"She not only sounds like she grew up on Music Row in Nashville, but she writes the kinds of songs that built Music Row in the first place. Second to her song-writing is her expressionistic phrasing, something that Lucinda Williams and Patty Griffin share." ~ Gabe Meline, North Bay Bohemian, Ca.

Music with the dirt left on
author: Gert van den Hof
It's a peculiar title and a peculiar album, although every album Audrey makes is a typical Audreu album: music with a smile left on. One feels that Audrey in het singing is just the same as she is on stage or talking with fans: always smiling and giving the feeling that her sun always shines. I love her music from het first album and I always will.

the real deal
author: Randy
I love this cd. Great beauty such as Bread and Roses and lots of fun as in Pub With No Beer. Audrey is a joy to watch/listen to live and her smile comes through on this recording too. 5 stars for the Queen of "Amerikinda" music - Tasmania is known for its devils but it at least one angel came from there too!
