In September of 2005 Aaron played his first international gig at the Delta Chelsea Hotel in Toronto. But his piano career certainly didn't start there! Inspired as a child by seeing pianist Van Cliburn on television, Aaron decided early on that he wanted to play piano. By age 11, he was accompanying vocalists at his church in Chicago and there learned to improvise to accommodate different vocal styles. While a teenager, he took every opportunity to perform and by the time he was college age, he was able to pay his own way by playing piano professionally.
Several years after completing college, Aaron left Chicago for Austin, Texas, the city that bills itself as "Live Music Capital of the World." There he quickly found part-time work as pianist for a Baptist church while working full time as a banker.
In March 2001, Aaron began his recording career. His first CD, "A Collection," was originally conceived as a Christmas gift for family and friends, but grew into a memorable compilation of standards. In 2003, Aaron released his second CD, "Seasons of Love." Both projects are much more than solo piano efforts as Aaron enlisted some of Austin's most talented musicians and vocalists to create well-rounded and impressive albums. On both reflect his artistic interpretation.
Aaron continues to play at private clubs, formal occasions, and other special events. Recently, at the request of First Lady Laura Bush, he was honored to play at the White House for a Literacy Foundation reception. Aaron is also sought after as a studio musician and has worked on other artists' projects. His ever-increasing repertoire includes a large selection of both English and Latin standards. Most recently, he has added songs by George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Johnny Mercer.
