Yes, I play cello, and yes, it's instrumental classical music--but it rocks. It's a cross between the dissonance of modern classical music with the driving intensity of heavy metal. I have many rock influences, and use much improvisation.

2006 has been a big year for Aaron. He recorded "Arco 71," signed to Emperor Penguin Records, and to top it off was chosen as the 2006 recipient of the McKnight Foundation Fellowship. He currently resides in St. Paul, Minnesota, but is a native of Omaha, Nebraska. He is a graduate of Loyola University, and came to the Twin Cities to be a part of the rich and eclectic music scene thriving there. He has been a member of many alt/rock/experimental groups--most notably Thinland, Stew, Anahada Nada, and the Semiconductor Orchestra. He has also been a session player on several local and national acts' recordings--most notably Bob Nordquist, The Sleeper Pins, Mellow Drunk, and the Urban Hillbilly Quartet. Aaron has received a grant from the American Composers Forum, a residency through the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra's CONNECT program, and has been commissioned to compose and arrange music for Theater Mu and Decadance Productions.
