Album Notes

This album was inspired by the life and death of Ayla's mom Lynda Bliss and is wholly dedicated to her with Love.

"Lily Plain, You're Hardly Poor" was recorded over three days at the Pine Ridge farm in the Lily Plain section of Northern Saskatchewan about a half hour west of Prince Albert in the languid summer of 2003. All the playing was done live-off-the-floor by Ayla, Lane and Marek in the main room of the "old half" of the farmhouse where Ayla grew up. AA Sound System hopes that you enjoy this collection of songs about the life, love and the pursuit of Northern-Canadian happiness.

REVIEWS

I connect with these songs--soulful lyrics, good roots music

Okay, I'm not from Sask. and I'm not a musician but I really connect with the music as a human and as a Canadian. I found Lily Plain by listening to CKUA (a couple of years ago)and the melodies just kind of stayed with me. I was so excited to find the album while browsing in Megatunes Edmonton. My favourites are the soulful "Prairie Whole" and "Blue so Blue" but I can't get "Woods" and "Take it as it comes" out of my head either. Nothing critical to say--I just really like Lily Plain.
