Hearts A Flutter

by Abby Mott

This debut record is a surprising mixture of raw soul, whimsical pop, and heartbreaking revelations. Abby plays every instrument on the record, marking each song with a deeply honest, sugar spun voice.

This young woman is a phenomenal talent.
I've had the chance to see Abby play numerous times and to say her talent is stunning is an understatement. She sings from the whimsical, broken fringes of her heart with a sense of abandon not often seen in pop music. If you do one thing today, buy this record. You can say you knew her when.

Great Range, Wonderful Music
There is an impressive range of mood and musicianship on this cd. Mott writes and performs herself on multiple instruments, including her sweet, versatile voice. And then she whistles--yet another way to make music. The cd is like a great collection of short stories--stories you'll want to know.
All of this with a true freshness and originality.
I've bought 4 cds for friends, relations and radio stations, and will probably need a few more. Mott is someone who should collect the wider audience she deserves--sooner rather than later, I hope.

Crisp, clean, refreshing
No, I'm not talking about a soft drink, I'm talking about this album! I'm an impulse listener--when I hear someone for the first time, there's either a "spark" or there isn't. Go ahead, pick a track, close your eyes and let the words carry you through the marvelously simple melodies-- nothing forced, nothing fake. Thank you Ms. Mott, may I have another?

"A thing of beauty is a joy for ever" - John Keats
This gorgeous album is not to be taken lightly. In Ms. Mott, we find a wondrous talent, who penned every tune and played every instrument herself. In her songs, you'll be enjoy tastes of pop, soul, indie, country and punk - but you'll also find a true and generous voice that melds all these influences, pushing them into a new, delightful space. In her album, you’ll find heartbreak, but you’ll also find the strength to mend it. This is that rare bird of an album whose song lends some much-needed color to your world. It only asks that you listen closely – a request you’ll all-too-willingly oblige.
