Album Notes

"The Story Goes On - Live at Theatre Building Chicago" was recorded over two nights and is the first live recording for Alexandra Billings. "Story" features a 6 piece band; appearances include Russ Long on piano/arrangements, Leon Joyce on percussion/drums (Ramsey Lewis Trio), Paul Martin on bass, William Underwood on synths/arrangements, Trey Maclin on guitar/vocals, Peter Carney on saxophone and Alanda Coon and Amy Matheny on backup vocals. Special guest performer, Stephen Rader who also directed the show, makes his recording debut on the beautiful, Sweet Dreams. "Story" features the exciting comedic/storytelling side of Ms. Billings on several monologues and you can hear the heartbreak in her voice on her stunning version of "Angels, Punks and Raging Queens." Also included on the CD is her tour de force "Rose's Turn" from "Gypsy," the role of "Rose," which Ms. Billings played at Bailiwick Theater in Chicago.

Ms Billings received raves for her CD debut "Being Alive" released in 2000, which featured material from her nightclub act such as "Let The River Run" "No One Knows Who I Am" and the title tune. Also available at CDBaby.
