If the band Ablaze' were a man, it would have the balls of Chris Cornell, the legs of Les Claypool, the soul of Thelonius Monk, and the insanity of "AaaanImaaaaal" from The Muppets(TM). But, Ablaze' is not a man. Ablaze' is a BAND.

BAND BIO

It commenced over a year ago, with the most unholy syzygy of Earth, Mars, beer, and breakfast. What followed was a conjunction of four empyreal musicians, and Ablaze' was formed. The band quickly went on to define a unique sound, combining the searing vocals of Cartic "Jimmy Awesome" Vengkatraman, the infernal percussive crafting of Steve "Crazy Drums" Rako, the sweltering organ of Nick "The Mentally Handicapped Ninja" Record, and the smoldering bass licks of Noah "Lapidus" Lapidus. Their sound has been described by fans and pundits as "jazz influenced grunge," "blues influenced progressive grunge," "blazz influenced progrungive rock," "a toast-influenced breakfast," or sometimes just, "toast." However you label them, this band is a conflagration of original sounds and ideas and sizzling grooves. For breakfast.

Vocals are deadly, musically entertaining, drums crisp, guitars are deadly sick man!, bass just rolls over th esongs and comes out just right. Martian-American Folk will be a hit! Have a bar in Tagaytay City, Philippines and play your music as background between Band sets. Check out KNUCKLES BAR on Facebook.

I had a pre-release of this cd because Cartic was my girlfriend's RA my sophomore year. It's great, and I'm glad to see that a real cd finally exists. I suggested to Cartic that the name for the album be "Aromatic Transmission," but I guess the band vetoed that. Oh well, the music is still just as good! Also, if you ever get the chance to hear them live, DO IT .. it's a good show, very enjoyable.

This is a great CD. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much out of a first cd, but I was honest to god impressed. Usually I'm not a huge fan of this genre of music. But they do a terrific job of combining a myriad number of influences together. The instrumentals in particular really groove well together. I'm looking forward to the next cd.
