notes
Anything Box is four guys using guitars, noise and computers to create binary tripped-out, emotionally tinged elektrodelic (their word) pop music. The name comes from an obscure Sci-Fi short story from the 60's about a young girl who sees an idealized fantasy world when she cups her two hands.
Anything Box began in the bedroom of lead singer/songwriter Claude S. as an escape from the banality of everyday life in Paterson NJ, an urban town whose claim to fame is a High School principal who carried a bat in the halls, and where the first Colt 45 was built. Amidst the drug deals outside his kitchen window and bar fights across the street, Claude dove within the introverted comfort of songwriting influenced by John Lennon, Disco, Pink Floyd, The Kinks, Joy Division, New Order, and Kraftwerk.
After 25 releases and over 300 shows to match, Abox (as they are known to their fans) has since become an international oddity of electronic music. Live, their energy is matched only by their antics and the switching of instruments. With Paul Rjinders on guitars and synths, Dave South on bass and samples, and Gary (Claude's brother) providing back-beats with his mouth, they have created an ever-evolving sonic signature. In a word, elektrodelic.
Right now, Anything Box delves deeper into the farther reaches of the un-punkt disco closet where dreams are amplified by distortion and words you can remember, like a fantasy of the powerpuff girls hiding from robots in the back seat of your car. They are here to stay. The robots agree.

Anything Box - 100% air-friendly groove pak
author: Diego TucciEnglish version: This record should sound in every radio station. It is full of hits. Each version lasts just the right time and you feel like playing them again and again. With no doubt, the version of 'Clean' is the best of all, ideal for those who love AB's first records. It could have been part of the masterpiece 'Hope' or a bonus track in 'Dance CD - 5.' The 30-minute-duration of the record seems a bit scarce and leaves you wanting more. The artwork is impeccable: simple but modern in its design. Its easy-to-store cardboard packaging, on the contrary, makes it a bit difficult for the user to manipulate the CD and leads to long term decay. This record is a must for synth-pop fans.
Bought it for Radio Static
author: Victor HernandezI'm an ABox fan so I already had the songs in this disc, except for Radio Static. It's quite a bit of money for just one new song. I was really expecting some live tracks. Buy it if you are a big ABox fan and if you can't find "Electrodelica" anywhere else, because that's the only other record where you can find "Negaverse." I'm giving it 3 stars not because it's bad, but because for ABox fans only one song is new.
A must for any ABox fan
author: MarcoAgain, ABox shows its capacity to create great and deeply fun music. A must have.
a fun EP
author: Steve BThis is a very enjoyable EP, and the introduction to the band's The Univererse is Expanding album. The first two tracks are singles from that album, then it heads into Radio Static, which is a wonderfully quirky anti-popsong. Radio Static alone, makes the EP a must, as it's the only Abox CD where the song appears. The EP doesn't stop there as it includes Negaverse from Elektrodelica and two other Groove Pak exclusives, Down and The Long Ride Home. There's a few extras hidden at the end as well.
worth it just for the song radio static
author: harrymost of the songs are from other cd's but radio static stands out as an amazing comment on the state of todays pop music!!! and the song negaverse makes me wish that the cd electrodelic was available here!!!
