Simple Life

by A Boy Named Sioux

The songs on Simple Life are a throw back to days when music still meant something. It is outlaw country mixed with southern rock and a touch of our south western roots. It is best enjoyed with good friends, whiskey and beer.

Album Notes
The band is led by R.E. Toner on vocals/acoustic and features Greg Ahmann on guitar, Austin Goff on drums and Steve Danielak on bass. They successfully blend "Outlaw Country" with a touch of homegrown Arizona style. Sioux has an original sound that is influenced by Waylon Jennings, CDB, Hank Jr., Lynyrd Skynyrd and Arizona Native Roger Clyne. Rob, also an Arizona native, started the band in 2007 when he wrote and produced the first record on his own using a cast of characters, and meshing many musical styles. They won the Phoenix New Times Best of Phoenix award 2008 for "Best Local Band". Also in 2008 they won the award for "Best Musical Group" at the Phoenix Music Awards. In 2009 they won "Country Group of the Year" at the Phoenix/L.A. Music Awards and in 2010 they finished in the top 5 for best local Band in the Phoenix New Times best of awards. The SIOUX fella's have opened for Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, Justin Moore, Keith Urban and other national acts. They have also played the Tempe Tostitos Fiesta Bowl New Years Eve Block Party, the P.F. Changs Rock & Roll Marathon, Country Thunder Arizona as well as headlined at the Revolution Lounge at the Mirage, Las Vegas.

“a Boy Named SIOUX is an experience like none other. Anyone who says that Southern rock has grown uninspired or has died obviously hasn’t gotten a chance to see these guys live. Its music that’s enjoyable for everyone from the Everyday Joe to the Music Savant!”

- Zach Ziegler, Station Manager, KJACK AM 1680, Flagstaff, AZ

“Having listened to and evaluated over 10,000 CD’s since the start of my profession as an executive producer of music award shows, I can tell you honestly that I am totally impressed with a Boy Named SIOUX. Their musical style is unique, as is their songwriting skill. They have managed to cross the best of Rock and Country into one cohesive sound.”

- Al Bowman, Founder/Executive Producer,
LA Music Awards & Phoenix Music Awards
