Album Notes

Music isn't simply a conglomeration of noise and sounds. It's a visual landscape translated by our eardrums. Each listener sees their own unique vistas and composes their own stories while listening to the rich and melodic sounds contained in this album.

Nature's Echo is a culmination of the experience I gained from other short-run albums. This is an aural journey from slow sonorous ambient sounds to melodic breakbeat and drum & bass.

Praise for songs on the album Nature's Echo:

Nature's Echo
"Here's what I see. Leaves falling naturally off a tree without wind in autumn. Dewdrops slipping effortlessly from the flora in morning. The sunrise glistening through a spiderweb. the gradual opening of a small group of flowers. Fog lifting for clarity in a scene of serene, tranquility. Definitely an uplifting track."

Diana's Bow
"Nothing but pure tonality... nothing but sacred harmony. This sounds like it could be from a drama movie...it should be."

Sailing the Solar Wind
"Wow this tune is very laid back, I like it, lets you relax. The melodies are nice and soothing. makes you feel like you're in the middle of an ocean, lonely on a ship, just staring at the stars."

The Caffeinated Ninja
"My A.D.D. loves the change-ups, My soul loves the bass!"

Tundra Exploration
"great job with the name... suits the track. it has a cold feeling to it. sounds like it would be one of those snow levels in a video game."

Incontinuity
"I absolutely love the start to this... the gentle intro of breakbeatishness, backing up some really glorious sounds the track makes me think spy movies"

Song for Summer
"This track is amazing... excellent ambiance, extremely perfect sounds, the reverb reaches me, the choir ahhs, intrigue me, keeps me listening. the soft tones are great, definitely [Abstraction] leaves no room for disappointment."

I am a lucky bastard. I actually got the entire album for free. I found it on a forum post on the Audiosurf website. While I cannot say much about the songs within the game I can say that this album is far more than just an ambient experience. It provides a lot depth and emotion, as well as some very energetic tracks. This may be a debut album, but that by no way means that is a weak one. A strong start. I have become a fan and though I already own the songs, I will buy the CD to support the artist.

A debut album, but not juvenile.

From solemn, dark tones to the sweeping chords of Sailing the Solar Wind (Abstraction's flagship track, to some), this is a debut album which, on the one hand, gives slight indications that it IS indeed a debut - there are discrepencies and inconsistancies from time to time - but, on the other hand, is an enjoyable listen regardless and is obviously put together with care. It's the kind of album that will have you salivating at the possibility of a sophmore offering, and not the other way around. The best part is that it's not all a bunch of contrived bull that you might get from a mainstream CD; you might enjoy a more personal connection with the artist through this album. By the way, you won't see Incontinuity coming, and you're going to love it when it gets there. Remixes by other artists are a nice bonus as well.

I've been listening to a number of these songs for a while now and they are brilliant. My absolute favourite track is 'Still Awake' which is great for keeping the brain ticking during late-night working. To sum up, I highly recommend this CD.
