Andy Carlson Band blew me away
I first heard of the Andy Carlson band thru Mandolin Cafe,I bought the CD on a whim, after seeing they had recorded Gasology.I was familiar with Tony Rice's version and wanted to hear someone else tackle this tune.Wow!Not only did they burn up Gasology, every tune on the C.D. was Killer!!I played it for our band and now they're all going to CD Baby to get music.Andy Carlson has put together an incredible bunch of musicians with lots of different influences that weave their way in and out of these tunes.Classical, bluegrass, newgrass, folk and more, these guys cover all the bases.

Fabulous!
Incredibly high-level musicianship, tunes that make me think of Old Crow Medicine Band one moment and Django Reinhardt the next, and the swingest Bach available. Great fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo, bass, singing. What else do you want? Buy it already!

Paul J

Pristine musianship, as expected
Liked it all, loved the JS Bach cover.

Ear candy
I'm not a big fan of fiddle music or Bluegrass, but THIS CD is different! Andy Carlson's fiddle has a gorgeous, rich chocolaty tone. There is a wonderful variety of songs on the CD that showcases the versatility of these instruments and musicians. In spite of the range of styles, the CD is cohesive and comes across as one work. I've been listening to it over and over and over!
