Album Notes

On this heartwarming CD, musical vignettes capture the loss, struggle, hope, and support that we encounter on our life-journeys. This new release contains an extraordinary collection of songs, in styles ranging from Folk and Classical and to Pop and Gospel, to create a quilt of lyrical settings that reflect our varied concepts of home.

Angel City Chorale will donate a significant share of the proceeds from the sale of The Road Home to OPCC to further its work. OPCC is an organization that serves homeless individuals, battered women, and people living with mental illness in Los Angeles. OPCC programs provide a wide range of housing and supportive services so individuals and families can rebuild their lives and return to self-sufficiency.

Conducted by renowned artistic director Sue Fink, the group's extraordinary ability to blend a passion for music with a love of performance is truly unmatched.

Over the past 15 years, Angel City Chorale has performed on our own and with Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross and Mary Chapin Carpenter in venues ranging from the 2000 Democratic National Convention at the Los Angeles Convention Center to "The American Tenors" at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood and "A Merry Mancini Christmas" at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. In 2008, ACC was chosen to represent the United States by singing the Mexican National Anthem as part of "Pangea Day", a global event which joined the world together through film.

I'm glad to see this album added to CDBaby because I saw the Angel City Chorale perform the Road Home concert in early June and it blew me away. This is choir music like you've never heard before. You'll be blown away by the group's sound, their wide range of songs and their energy. You won't be dissapointed by this CD.
