Album Notes
Here's a new Jazz recording from the group Chance. Music in the modern style of Joshua Redman and Fly; it's a bass, drums and tenor trio the bends melody and time concerns to their own whims. Very provocative, original and cutting edge playing. They juxtapose standards and originals with structures that are fluid and extraordinary in that they don't employ the typical head-solo-head out format. Cadence Magazine has described Tim Zannes' playing on this recording as "great", citing his "endless weaving of melodic variations" and "full muscular tone". They further commented: "this is a really deep saxophone trio recording". If you love the tenor led bass and drums trios of Sonny Rollins and other tenor titans, you'll love this fine recording also.
