Album Notes

The Acne Records Breakout 2004 compilation CD showcases 17 original songs in various sub-genres of pop/rock. Featuring nine different musical acts, the CD contains original music in the styles of modern rock, alternative, pop/punk, power pop, soft rock, techno, and lo-fi dance pop.

The featured acts on Breakout 2004 range from radio-friendly acts such as Robert Cooper to more left-of-center artists like Dream Alone and Intergalactic Funk Cowboy. The compilation contains the novelty song "I Went To School With Elizabeth Hurley" by Trevor John, who really did go to school with her. The songs "Weird" and "Girls Want It" by crazed outlook are earlier versions from when the band still used a drum machine (check out their debut album Crazed Out, which was recorded with live drums).

Breakout 2004 is a fun album that takes you through twists and turns into a journey that you won't forget.

Made for repeated listening...
author: Matt Hresko
Breakout 2004 is a compilation CD that's aged well with me so far. I've listened to it repeatedly in the last couple months while driving in my car. I'd recommend Breakout 2004 to anyone who's looking for a CD where not all the songs sound the same.

Don't expect anything, just listen.
author: James Bartosevich
People are always asking me what the Breakout 2004 album sounds like. I can't describe it accurately. There is such a well-rounded mix of music, with the only common thread between the bands being the passion for the music. That passion shows, and it seems to be Acne Record's philosophy that the passion is more important than anything. This works for them, as they seem to continue their courtship to independance and passion beyond the music, into the production.

Great eccletic mix of songs
author: John Smoker
I was introduced to this CD from my friend, who is one of the artists. I listened to all the tracks and it is a great mix of styles. This would be a perfect CD to take on a road trip. The track by Good For Nothing is good for something.. a nice little ditty.
