THA ACOLYTES are leader/producer/songwriter DIRTY RED, producer/co-producer/songwriter BISHOP, and co-producer/songwriter TICO.

What are THA ACOLYTES about? Attacking the hottest tracks in their arsenal that are known to keep the clubs jumpin' and the cars & jeeps trunks thumpin'. Production techniques consist of hard knockin', bass ridin' tracks for the new Millennium. With a definitely new sound that's sure to please the masses, THA ACOLYTES keep it real coming with savvy ear candy flavas and lyrical flows, with more styles and techniques than Kung fu mixed with Kama Sutra. THA ACOLYTES are sure to keep the listeners wanting to hear every track that plays and liking them.

THA ACOLYTES have done work with a few well-known personalities and producers in the business. Producers like James Kennedy AKA MAESTRO. MAESTRO, formerly of TUFF CITY RECORDS and MKA ENTERTAINMENT/PRIORITY RECORDS, Eric Winn AKA DJ ECLIPSE, formerly of WILD PITCH RECORDS, and former radio personality, of WQOK 97.5's weekend mix show in Raleigh, NC, Gary Jones AKA DJ SPECIAL GEE. SPECIAL GEE. The ACOLYTES have also submitted a track, "JUKE JOINT JIGGLE" as a part of a compilation album for Charles "CHAZZ" Ashley of CHAZZMENT ENTERTAINMENT & MONEY BIN RECORDS, scheduled to be released early summer 2001. The song should prove to be another hot ass single for the summer.

Today, THA ACOLYTES are a self-contained unit. Majority of the tracks are produced by the groups leader DIRTY RED. Applying knowledge gained from working with others in the music business, DIRTY RED has started his own Independent record company spoken about on this site, EDGE RECORDS. The groups first single "BOYZ OF CO. NC" b/w "DOWN HERE (W'CHU WANT)" went off without a hitch and received excellent reviews from DJs throughout North Carolina, on the B-side track "DOWN HERE". The A-side track, "BOYZ OF CO. NC", has made its mark in Los Angles, California in the clubs HOTSPOT, CADILLAC, and CHEERS. They have hit #39 on the Dixie Dance Kings Urban Charts. THA ACOLYTES are now proceeding to drop their debut EP "IDENTITY CRISIS", and their next single off the EP are "NO RUNNIN'" b/w "DOWN HERE" remix. All of the tracks on the EP are sure to have the masses marching to the beat of a new drummer for the summer. And with their follow-up full-length LP "RALEIGHWOOD SHUFFLE (27610/CRUNK), THA ACOLYTES are sure to set it off in the dirty south and the west-coast with their unique flows and intricate beats that pound...THA ACOLYTES GET IT ON & POPPIN'...YA HEARD!
