ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
We approached this project as close to a live performance as possible. It's sparse it terms of layers but it's representative of how we sound in a performance situation.
Genre's are hard when you have a different vision from the mass but I've coined a phrase that I think describes our sound; "Acoustic Americana" While not really Bluegrass in the traditional; sense, we definitely approach things from that mindset. Here's our band bio from my wesite (www.richiereinholdt,com)
The Acousticals

Featuring three of western Montana’s premier bluegrass musicians, playing predominantly original material in the “New Acoustic” vein popularized by Alison Krauss, showcasing their fine pickin’ and duet singing. Great listening and dancing music.

Richie Reinholdt - Guitar, Lead & Harmony Vocals. Richie has been a professional musician for nearly 40 years. He spent most of the 70’s touring with the regionally successful “Live Wire Choir”, a newgrass and western swing group. Richie has been a part of the Montana Bluegrass family for many years and has released several solo albums. His most recent recordings are “Talk to the Paw” (2005) & “Lies of Love” (2006). Richie is the main singer & songwriter for the group.

Ted Lowe - Bass, Harmony & Lead Vocals. While growing up in Missoula, Ted was immersed in a wide variety of music, including bluegrass, old time, folk and rock and roll. He started out playing guitar, and in recent years has added the bass to his musical arsenal. With The Acousticals he’s found the rare opportunity to combine his musical roots with the contemporary songwriting talents of his fellow musicians.

Chad Fadely - Mandolin. Chad’s tasteful solos have made him one of Western Montana’s most in-demand mandolin players. Currently Chad plays in several bands and was a founding member of the well known Missoula based band, Long Overdue. Chad’s original tunes can be found on his two recordings; “Mandolin Escapes” (2005) and “The Backroom” (2007).
