Album Notes

Acoustic Asylum, formed by composer Dan Radlauer, features some of the finest musicians in Los Angeles. The unique instrumentation includes Violin, Accordion, Clarinet & Baritone Sax, Bass, Drums, Acoustic Guitar and Vocals. These accomplished studio musicians have unplugged themselves from their usual electric and commercial lives to make fun, interesting music in Acoustic Asylum.
Influences from Blues, Jazz, Funk, Zydeco, Tango, even Klesmer show up in the music and improvisation is prominently featured. The music is all orginal and spans moods from Wacky and Fun, to Pastoral to Swampy Bluesy and energtic.
Sqeezing the Accordion is Composer/Producer Dan Radlauer. Dan composes music for Film, Commercials and Network TV including "The Surreal Life" and NBC's "Next Action Star". Some of his commercials have been for companies like Coke, Nissan, Pizza Hut and many, many others.
On acoustic guitar is Carl Verheyen who has been one of the top studio guitar players in Los Angeles for over 20 years. He also has been a member of the band Supertramp since 1985 as well as touring world wide with his own group.
Playing Clarinet and Baritone Sax, Dan Higgins has played on many records, films and TV shows. He most recently was featured throughout the Acadamy Award nomitated score on "Catch Me If You Can" by John Williams.
Ludvig Girdland on Violin is a recent transplant from Sweden. Ludvig has been playing on TV and Film scores, commercials as well as touring with Cirque du Soleil and Vanessa Carlton.
Sinclair Lott on Drums is another staple in the LA studio world. Sinclair has been in demand for over two decades as a session drummer. He has played live with Big Joe Turner, Curtis Fuller and Billy Childs.
Bass player Dave Morotta has played on countless movie scores, TV shows and commercials as well as playing with Lionel Ritchey, Manhatten Transfer, Neil Diamond and many others.
