Album Notes

If you like strong electric good guitar rock you will love this album. The band was formed by Albert and reigned supreme in Manhattan for many years, Cold Steel. Not only is the music good but the background of this album is interesting. The album's lyrics are potent poems of life in the big city..direct and to the point reflective of the era. The power trio, Cold Steel was to be signed by Marshall Chess right before he fell from power with the Rolling Stones and never quite got off the ground.

It was recorded in New York's very own Soundworks studio, below Studio 54 when it was at its height of popularity. Two of the songs were recorded in Jimi Hendrix's Studio, the "Electric Lady" on 8th street in NYC. Al's first band was playing lead guitar with Eric Emmerson & the Magic Tramps in the NYC. Eric was a street musician and an Andy Warhol film star. During this era hunging out with all the stars at Max's Kansas City on Park Ave, right around the corner from Andy's studio, The Factory was the norm.
Eric, unfortunately, was killed riding a bicycle in the city and half the band (Chris Stein on bass, & Debra Harry, back vocals) became Blondie.

This album has some great guitar in it! I have listened to this album over and over and the more I listen to it the more I love it! I recently went to LA and NYC on business and I almost fell off of my chair when an associate compared him to the greats, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Clapton, and beck, and that he has 7 CDs.
