Album Notes

KNOW FOOLING features 4 Folktales

* Jack and the Beans Talk is a slightly altered version of a classic English tale about a boy who takes action without considering the consequences. Fortunately, he gains wisdom just in time.
* The Golden Pitcher is a tale from Mongolia that we believe deserves to be better known. A foolish emperor places too much value on appearances, until he learns a valuable lesson.
* The Knee High Man is an African-American story about a tiny man who goes to absurd extremes to be like everyone else.
* Simple Ivan from Russia is one of the “noodlehead” stories, appearing in many forms among many cultures, about a foolish lad who applies the right advice to the wrong situation, with hilarious results

The Act!vated Storytellers have delighted thousands of fans ages 2 to 102, from Washington state to Washington D.C., from the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico. Dennis and Kimberly founded L’Eau Theque Productions in San Francisco in 1988. Later, they adopted the name Act!vated Storytellers for their unique touring family productions. In 1992, they gave up their apartment in SF and never looked back.

Dennis Goza (Dad) writes the scripts, composes the music, and does the bookkeeping and most of the cooking. He collects far too many CD’s and tapes.
Kimberly Goza (Mom) is the director/choreographer, and does most of the driving. She’s always on the lookout for sneaky Scrabble® words.
Zephyr Goza (Son) has been performing since he was in diapers. He’s a Lone Scout and collects Jr. Ranger Badges from National Parks. He enjoys reading, designing computer games and riding rollercoasters.

An Absolute Delight

I travel across country continuously--much like the Gozas--and find this CD to help fill the hours with clever, witty stories. The humor and family dynamic makes the stories easy to listen to, enjoyable and downright laugh-out loud funny. Each story teaches a moral lesson, too, in a non-obtrusive way. And they teach the importance of good grammar in a droll way in "Golden Pitcher." I've listened to this CD several times and have brought it to babysitting functions. The kids love it. And so do I!
