Album Notes

What they're saying about "Come Take the Waters" -- "Joy! Absolute joy! - in every note and between every note!" - "Masterpiece!" - "Brilliant!" - "I feel I'm gathered there with you!" - "Can't remember the last time I loved every song on a CD!" - "A mirror for how beautiful the music community is and can be!" - "Remarkable! This one isn't leaving my CD player anytime soon!"

Amy says: Most CD notes close with gratitude -- this one begins there. Above all this project is composed of community – and what happens when we “circle up and sing.” Most of it was captured in live settings up, down and across the state of Florida – in festival campgrounds, living rooms overlooking rivers, the screen porch of an island house – where we literally just set up microphones, sat down in a circle, played for the love of it and hoped we captured a moment of the magic – the magic you hear here, between the notes, between the songs, between the hearts of each one who lent their voices and fingers and breath and brains to this music – music born of those who taught us ... music born of the lessons they taught.
