"...Hammer has succeeded in surrounding his poetry with a quiet, lush, acoustic vibe that draws you in and makes for some great laid-back listening. My favorites here include the opening 'Scars for Diamonds' and the dark 'Ballad of Lucy.'"
-Karl Leslie, music critic for the St. Cloud Times.

After releasing short runs of the "Figments EP" solo and "The EP" with Doug Yorgason in the acoustic group East Arm, Hammer took a few years off from recording. His second solo EP release, the "Tattooed Folk EP," was released April 2008.
The songs on "Tattooed Folk" highlight Hammer's continued development of his unique acoustic style and storytelling.
"Scars for Diamonds" and "Spun Out" flash back to Hammer's time living homeless in the mid-1990s, while "16" recalls simpler times. "Summer" and "In Your Blanket" bring the story to Hammer's new life as a family man. "Ballad of Lucy" takes the collection away from reality and into a realm of what Hammer has developed into his new "black and blues" sound.
The EP was written, recorded, produced and performed by Hammer at his Hammered House Productions.
With nearly all copies of the EP sold out, fans can still download mp3s at CDBaby.com, iTunes and other various online music retailers.
