THE LEGEND BEHIND "FAGGOTY ATTENTION":
Adam Joseph was inspired to write this song while working with Jonny McGovern (The Gay Pimp) on a series of songs the two were producing together for the album "This is NYC Bitch, The East Village Mixtape" (also available on cdbaby). Jonny playfully mentioned the idea to Adam and it stuck in the back of his mind.
The concept of the song began as a joke and the playfulness continued on throughout the creation of it.
The song was written by Adam in the back of a rental car on a road trip from Florida to Ohio. A few months after the song was written, Adam got a call from film director Casper Andreas who was looking for an original song for his new movie "A FOUR LETTER WORD". Adam mentioned the title of the song and Casper was instantly interested. Casper wanted to hear the song but it had not yet been produced.
Two days later after about 8 hours all alone in the studio Adam had created the music for the song. He then cut the vocals (in his west village living room) and finished up the final touches the day before he submitted the song for the movie. He had to finish the song so quickly because he actually performs the song in the movie and had filmed the scene the day after the song was completed.
"Fagotty Attention" began getting play around the NYC club scene and Adam began to incorporate this far departure from his original musical style into his act. The song became and instant hit with audiences and is now one of his most popular songs.
To think something that started out as a simple kiki....

The song is amazing, as is the video which ruled the charts on Logo. The maxi single not only features remixes of the original, but a free music video download of the single. Definitely genius.
