Album Notes

Adam Kent faithfully captures the folkloric underpinnings of Edvard Grieg's music. The Lyric Pieces express Grieg's many moods; they are, in turn, contemplative, wistful, reflective, sprited, romantic, energetic, joyful. Grieg wrote "Wedding Day at Troldhaugen" as a love offering to his wife of twenty five years.

Grieg adored the Norwegian countryside and Kent, a great colorist, performs Grieg's music with the attention to style and detail it deserves.
