Album Notes

Once upon a time in the small northern country of Canada, a zeppelin collided with a very black Sabbath and landed in the 21st century bringing together old school metal riffs with an updated sound. In December 2005, Richard Scott and J.F.Therien left the metal band The Abused and set off to complete what they had set out to do… make great music! Teaming up with Max Laurin drummer of the former Montreal band Element they formed Addicts Of Affliction. The band hooked up with Slaves On Dope axe man Kevin Jardine who agreed to produce their debut album in conjunction with Uplift Productions. Asylum Awaits promises to throw a few punches and bring metal back to a day when the story was every bit as important as the music.

That's all killer, no filler

One of the unique rock albums of XXI century. Based around the strong, ominous guitar riffs, powerfull drum rhytms, fat basslines and eerie vocal styling. Addicts Of Affliction mixed old school, Tony Iommi - like guitar riffs with new generation modern rock. Yes, it's a big influence from early Black Sabbath, we can hear it in songs like 'Save Me', 'Asylum Awaits', 'Untitled' and especially at the interlude from 'Me And You'. Other songs are blend of old and modern rock. It's funky bass driven 'Can We Believe Them?', with a deep existentialistic lyrics; dark, nostalgic 'Alone'; sing-along 'Crowded Rooms', with memorable guitar solo. Long live Addicts Of Affliction!

HAVE WE FOUND THE NEXT SABBATH?

From the opening drum riff of 'Save Me' to the very last note of 'Untitled', this album takes you on a journey through time to another place in rock history where guitar riffs were as memorable as the songs sung over them! Great Production value! Awesome songs with absolutely no filler! Band claims their influences include Sabbath, not hard to believe, I think we may have found a new Sabbath in the Addicts Of Affliction. This band is going to stir some S***!
