Album Notes

Music has always been a part of Adia's life. Her mother says she was singing the day she was born. When she was five years old she announced that she wanted to be a singer. From that early moment on she was certain of her future. Adia cannot remember a time when she didn't want to sing.

At the age of nine with her best friend at her side Adia decided that they should start a group, and that they would also write their own songs. Well, the group didn't exactly work, but through that experience Adia found that she loved writing songs. Since the age of eleven, her voice has been heard in recording studios and in many different school, community musicals, and talent shows. Audiences of all ages find her voice to have an especially pleasing quality and her presence and personality to be magnetic.

Singing is her first love but it isn't the only entertainment area in which she wants to be involved. In addition to writing and performing what are sure to be the hit songs of the future, Adia has also written plays. While in high school she, co-wrote, co- directed and acted in two school productions. She has many creative ideas and hopes to one day make them all a reality.

Adia comes from a diverse background and a wide range of experiences. Her family and friends are diverse and hale from a variety of cultures, backgrounds, and places. She has lived both on the East Coast and West Coast, in such places as Los Angeles, California where she was born and lived till she was nine, Washoe Valley, Nevada where she lived on a ranch for four years, to her present place of residence, Maryland , where she has lived for the past ten years. All very different places but all a part of who she is.

For inspiration for the music that she writes and performs, Adia draws upon her own personal experiences and the life experiences of other. As she has continued to sing and write, she has learned important lessons and in the process developed an ear for a wide variety of soul -pleasing music. Some of the artists she looks up to include Marvin Gaye, Minnie Riperton, Anita Baker, Mariah Carey, Deniece Williams, Phil Collins, Amel Larrieux and the list could go on and on.

Recently Adia has been performing and participating in various shows and contests to promote her Ep and her soon to be released first album dropping early 2006. Adia is an extremely gifted and talented artist who is ready to bring something new, exciting and unique to the music industry.
